Hair Claw Clips: 3 Easy Hairstyles

Hair Claw Clips are an easy way to keep your hair in place, and get creative with hairstyles too!

Hair Claws are the perfect hair accessory when you are in a rush and want your hair up and out of your face. When I started QueenMee Accessories, they were the first hair accessory that I started designing, because they are so practical!

I started QueenMee Accessories when I became a mother and had to tie my hair up for the first time. My long hair was always getting in the way as I bent down to pick up my daughter, or play with her. Hair claws became my go-to hair accessory because I could quickly and easily create updo hairstyles

This hair claw is one of the very first I designed, and this is me - with my hair up, in exactly the same way I wore it when I was playing with my baby!

I still wanted to feel glamorous in my new life as a mother, and hair claws allowed me to create pretty and creative hairstyles, with the added benefit of making me feel sparkling, as I started to embellish them with crystals and jewels!

Nowadays I have a wide range of hair claw clips in my collection, and I've become a bit of an expert on how to style them, having not only styled them on myself, but helping thousands of women at my QueenMee Pop Ups. I'm excited to help you find your favourite go-to hair claw clip hairstyle!

What different hairstyles can I create with Hair Claw Clips?

There are a multitude of fabulous hairstyles that you can create with Hair Claws. They are perfect for anything from a messy bun, to glamorous updo hairstyles for a wedding, or even for a boho-inspired braided hairstyle.

The possibilities are endless! See for example the glamorous updo we've created here, that would be perfect for a wedding guest hairstyle.

However, if you're a beginner like I was when I first became a mother and started wearing them, you'll want to know the easiest ways to get creative with hair claw clips, so you can start experimenting, and grow in confidence styling them.

In this post I've selected my 3 favourite, easy hairstyles with hair claw clips to get you started. These include 2 very simple ways to wear your hair claw clip, plus one more creative way, to show you what's possible. I'd encourage you to get creative and play around with different styles. The more you practise the more confident you'll get!

If I have fine hair, can I still wear a Hair Claw Clip?

Yes! If you have fine hair (like me, as you can see in these photos!) hair claws that are on the smaller side can be the perfect solution - they are light, and can help you add a bit of oomph to your hair.

Small hair clips won't weigh your hair down, and they will allow you to create pretty hairstyles that are both secure and comfortable.

If I have thick hair, can I still create easy Hair Claw Clip Hairstyles?

Yes again! If you have thick hair, you'll want to consider one of our large hair clips when you're creating your hair claw clip hairstyles. This model has thick hair, and here I've used one of our large hair clips to create a gorgeous and easy hairstyle.

The hair claw doesn't need to hold all of your hair, as you can see from the photos of our favourite hairstyles, but it does need to be big enough to firmly grip a good section of your hair.

What are the easiest hairstyles to create with hair claw clips?

OK - it was hard to choose my hands-down favourite hair claw clip hairstyles, but each of these Top 3 scores highly on the ease factor! I'm a big fan of hairstyles that are easy and effective, that's why I love hair accessories so much.

So without further ado, here are my top 3 Easy Hairstyles with Hair Claws!

1) Hair Claw Clip with Mini Bun

Hair Buns are my go-to hairstyle for a relaxed day. They ooze laid-back chic. The perfect hairstyle for a relaxed Sunday coffee date in your favourite coffee shop.

Half up half down hair is always in style, and when you add laid-back bun vibes to this classic hairstyle, you have a winning combination. Whether you're dashing to the school run, or lazing by the pool on holiday you'll feel effortlessly glam in your go-to mini bun!

The essential ingredient to add a dose of glam is a pretty hair claw clip - the bun is instantly elevated, and the look becomes glamorous.

Ideal if you are dashing around - this hairstyle only takes a few seconds to create. It can also add volume to the front of your hair.

Simply gather half of your hair into a high ponytail, and then wrap the hair around once to form a small bun.

The final step is to then secure at the back with your Hair Claw. We have used our small hair claw in tortoiseshell which is the perfect hair claw clip to hold your hair firmly in place, and add some gentle sparkle.

2) Half Up Half Down: Hair Claw Clip to add Volume

You can never go wrong with Half Up Half Down hair. The added bonus of using a Hair Claw to secure your hair is that there's the opportunity to add volume to the front of your hair, and at the crown too.

To create this hairstyle, gather the top section of your hair, from behind your ears and bring it to the top of your head. Keep this nice and loose as well to create extra volume at the front of your hair.

Use your Hair Claw Clip just below the crown of your head, and secure it so that it pushes some hair upwards to create extra volume at the crown.

Once again our small hair claw in tortoiseshell has added some sparkle to this hairstyle, to make you feel fabulous.

3) Braided Hairstyle secured with Hair Claw Clip

One of the joys of hair accessories is that you can easily get creative with them. This is such a fun hairstyle, and it's a little bit different too.

You can experiment with your braids. As a variation, try a braid on each side of your hair, held together with a central Hair Claw Clip.

To create the braided hairstyle in the photo here, start by smoothing half your hair back in a ponytail, and begin braiding your hair. Stop half way down.

Then grab your small hair claw in tortoiseshell and secure it in place.

This hairstyle is snag-free as you don't use any hair bobbles, and will make you feel Queenly everyday.

Hair Claw Clips have never looked better, or been this fun and easy!
